I know I’m a few days off (blame the food coma, great company and Black Friday sales), but I wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone who reads and responds to my blog. While it’s not always perfect, I do love sharing my life (struggles and all) as I live and work in New York City while passing along my tips and tricks – from travel and work advice to fashion, lifestyle and beauty suggestions – with all of you.

I feel extremely grateful this year because I was able to consciously celebrate another year of “trying.” I know that must sound awfully funny, or even too simplified for some, but isn’t life just a series of trial and error with success in-between? The fact that I’m trying – that we’re all “trying” – to do our best in life is something to be thankful for, because without trying, we wouldn’t get anywhere.

And what’s life but not a daring adventure?

I personally believe those moments of triumph are made especially sweet with a supportive group of friends and family behind me – much like this past Thanksgiving holiday allowed me to have. Not only did I get to celebrate with Matt and his wonderful family this year, but also my mom and step-father who drove up from Maryland. And the people I spoke to before and after – from my dad and youngest brother in Florida on their surprise Thanksgiving visit to my grandmother, to a special FaceTime with my newly engaged friend of 10+ years, and even a friend who is starting a new business venture (!), I could not contain my excitement for them all “trying” in their own way to embrace life wholeheartedly.

So thank you, readers, for another year of your support and “trying.” Whether that means going for that new job, standing up for yourself, being vulnerable with someone you love or flying solo to a new country – keep pushing forward, because nothing in life worth having comes easy. And, as always, remember that there is always something to be thankful for in your life.

Hello from sunny Florida!

Sorry for the brag, but I’m over-the-moon to be in a state where I don’t have four plus layers or worry about snow in November. Matt and I are here to visit my family, and I have a fun event tonight (more on that on my Instagram stories), but I’ll be back in the city Tuesday. Stay warm, friends :-)

1. A cheeky host/hostess gift for under $25.

2. I have a feeling I’ll be buying this eye cream soon…

3. Thanksgiving guest etiquette 101.

4. Why reading is the smartest thing you can do.

5. My go-to cashmere top this season.

6. How to avoid gaining weight on Turkey Day.

7. 24 things to do when you’re bored on a plane.

8. I could live in these super soft jogger pants.

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

I certainly have quite a bit to be thankful for:  my incredible family, boyfriend & friends, new destinations crossed off on my bucket list, thought-provoking podcasts, face masks, my merit scholarship for my MBA, cozy mornings, Dyson products (hair dryer/vacuum), seeing John Legend perform… there are honestly too many things to list. And that’s just off the top of my head. Here’s to another day (that’s right, not just today) of being grateful.
